While there is evidence of improvement in the copyright management, the truth is that it is too early to determine whether Sayco is actually the appropriate entity to protect interest of Colombian authors and composers. Likewise, the organization’s conflict highlighted the need to pass a law modernizing and strengthening controls over societies and, of course, reiterate the protection of artists, both associated and non-associated, with collective rights management societies.
